BioAsia 2015 partners with IMA – Indian Medical Association & TiE-Hyderabad

To expand the potential of digital healthcare

BioAsia 2015, the 12th edition of the annual international life sciences conference has announced its partnership with Indian Medical Association and TiE (The Indus entrepreneurs) a non-profit global network of entrepreneurs and professionals. This is a first of its kind initiative from BioAsia and possibly from the biotechnology arena aimed towards expanding the potential of digital healthcare. Digital Health and Healthcare IT conference that will be held during the BioAsia 2015, will enable technology professionals, entrepreneurs, investors and medical practitioners amongst others; to interact, present ideas, explore solutions and improve healthcare.

TiE and IMA will help BioAsia to design the content and interactive modalities, to spread the potential of this opportunity to its member base, engage with the startup community and doctors to participate and help to host the conference at BioAsia 2015.

BioAsia 2015 is organised by the Federation of Asian Biotech Association [FABA], Government of Telangana and the Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) with the support of Government of India. Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Biotech Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC)-GoI, TiE-Hyderabad, Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI), Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Indian Medical Association (IMA), FICCI – Food 360, Association of Contract Research Organizaions (ACRO), Aurigene Discovert, Invest India and India Brand Equity Foundation among other organisations will be working in partnership to organise this event on a grand scale.

Speaking on the partnership, Shakthi Nagappan, Chief Executive Officer, BioAsia said, “The event will bring together the global thought leaders, medical practitioners, startup community, investors, tech companies, and other stakeholders on a single platform to explore opportunities and contribute to the overall cause of improving healthcare through discussions, idea sharing and enabling innovations. IMA and TiE are uniquely placed to partner BioAsia in helping meet this objective.”

Commenting on the tie-up, Murali Bukkapatnam President, TiE Hyderabad, said, “By partnering with BioAsia 2015 we are offering another platform for our startup ecosystem to explore the possibilities in the healthcare domain. One of focus areas in the track is data analytics, where the startup community can contribute significantly. Budding entrepreneurs and technology specialists can take advantage of the pool of healthcare experts and medical practitioners who will be available to interact, discuss and share their experiences that can possibly lead to generating some frugal innovations.”
