DIA appoints Jytte Lyngvig as new European director

DIA has appointed Jytte Lyngvig as the new director for DIA Europe. She also served on the European Medicines Agency Management Board as Vice-Chair for five years and as Chair of the Management Group, Heads of Medicines Agencies, for six years. Lyngvig is expected to take up her new position on January 10, 2013.

Dr Ling Su, President, DIA, described the appointment as a very significant step for the organisation. “ Lyngvig has a wealth of experience in medicines development and regulation as well as the respect of the medicines development community. Her wider experience of managing change coupled with her own exceptional management style will be a real boost to what is already a firmly established regional office and we are all very much looking forward to working with Lyngvig,” declared Ling.

Jytte has many years experience of working with the DIA both as an advisor and, more recently, as Co-Chair of DIA Europe’s Annual EuroMeeting, held in Copenhagen earlier this year.

Dr Beat Widler, Chair of DIA Europe’s ACE (Advisory Council Europe) Committee, welcomed Lyngvig’s appointment, commenting “Jytte will provide energy and direction to the European office and will be a strong addition to DIA’s Global Management Team. With her energy, network, drive and experience these are exciting times indeed for DIA’s European office”.

Lyngvig is a Chemical Engineer with a PhD in Socioeconomic Planning from the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and Operations Research at the Technical University of Denmark.
