CareFusion has signed a new agreement outside the US with InterMetro Industries Corporation to distribute the Metro brand of medication and supply management carts, including the popular 1760Rx Hybrid Medication Workstation and FlexLine Procedure cart. CareFusion exhibited their new line of Metro Flo portable workstations at the 2012 Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition (Duphat) and also at the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP) congress in Milan, Italy.
Prasanna Parthasarathy, Vice President, Medical Systems International at CareFusion said, “The needs of hospital pharmacies continue to evolve, and more than ever, technology solutions must help increase safety and lower operating costs. The innovative systems we introduced reflect our ongoing commitment to deliver technologies and differentiated partnerships in markets outside the US that support these changing needs, reducing complexity in the medication management process so pharmacists and nurses have more time to spend on patient care. With this partnership we have the ability to extend our reach with a combination of advanced technology solutions to better serve patients and caregivers worldwide.”
The Metro 1760Rx cart combines access to real-time patient information with secure and accurate point-of-care medication delivery. The 1760Rx features the Metro SecureRx Med Module, which allows nurses to securely access a patient’s medications in separate, locked bins to efficiently deliver multiple medications. The 1760Rx also enhances patient care by seamlessly integrating with electronic administration records (eMARs).
John Nackley, President and Chief Executive Officer, InterMetro, said, “We are excited to be partnering with a company that shares our passion for developing innovative healthcare products and services that enhance caregiver productivity and work flow while improving overall patient care.”
