Equal opportunities for women in metros

I am not aware of the exact percentage, however, based on the companies that I know, women at top and senior management positions would be about one per cent and middle management would be in the range of 20 to 35 per cent.

The policy on representation of women at the board level generally depends on the philosophy of each company. However, in today’s era when women in metro cities are getting equal opportunities, personally I don’t think there should be such a policy.

Representation on board should be on the merit of the individual. In the situation of a tie, the individual’s value system, soft skills, passion, commitment and other relevant parameters can be looked at.
