Ashland increases global price of excipient products

0 26

The increase in price is in response to inflationary pressures on key manufacturing inputs and increasingly stringent regulatory requirement

Ashland Specialty Ingredients, a commercial unit of Ashland, is increasing the price of its portfolio of Aqualon ethylcellulose and sodium carboxymethylcellulose, Aquarius film coating systems, Blanose sodium carboxymethylcellulose, Benecel methylcellulose and hypromellose, Klucel hydroxypropylcellulose, Plasdone povidone and copovidone, and Polyplasdone crospovidone from four to five per cent globally (depending on the specific product and grade) effective October 15, 2014, or as contracts allow.
This increase is in response to inflationary pressures on key manufacturing inputs and increasingly stringent regulatory requirements and is necessary to allow Ashland to continue to invest in new capacity and technology and to provide innovative products and quality, regulatory and logistics support that add value for customers.
