Biocon to invest Rs 1,060 crores in Bengaluru plant

The facility is expected to generate at least 750 jobs immediately

Biocon plans to set up a new manufacturing facility near its existing campus at an investment of Rs 1,060 crores in Bangalore.

The facility is expected to generate at least 750 jobs immediately. Biocon’s investment proposal was approved by the State High Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) chaired by Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah at a meeting on May 25, 2016.

According to the proposal given to the government, Biocon will produce injectables and monoclonal antibodies at the new facility that will come up on leased plots at the new KIADB Industrial Area in Jigani, few kilometers from the Biocon Park.
