NPPA asks cos to provide PTR, MAT data of 130 drugs

In case companies fail to furnish details, NPPA will proceed with price fixation of the formulations based on other available information

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has urged pharma companies to provide Price To Retailer (PTR) and Moving Annual Turnover (MAT) details in value terms of around 130 formulations listed in NLEM for August 2015, to enable the authority to take appropriate action for ceiling price fixation by July 21, 2017.

The authority has stated in its letter, “As the AIOCD (Pharmatrac) is not capturing the PTR and MAT of these formulations, all the concern manufacturers/ marketing companies are requested to furnish PTR and MAT in value terms.”

In January this year, NPPA had asked pharma companies to provide PTR and MAT data of around 140 formulations but the authorities did not receive any positive response from them. NPPA in its letter mentioned, “It may be noted that manufacturers/ marketing companies have not positively responded to our earlier several office memorandum.”

Once again the authority has requested the companies to provide PTR and MAT data on or before the deadline. If the companies fail to provide the requisite data, NPPA will have no other option but to proceed with the price fixation of these formulations based on other available information.
