National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed/revised the price of bulk drug levosalbutamol at Rs 23,100 for one kilogram.
The announcement came via an order dated April 1 and the new price will be effective within 15 days of this date. All formulators utilising levosalbutamol in their scheduled formulations will have to revise their rices accordingly.
This latest order follows NPPA fixing/revising prices of 33 formulation packs onDecember 27 last year.
Levosalbutamol is the R-enantiomer of the short-acting ß2-adrenergic receptor agonist salbutamol. It is used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
